Pods are grouped into practical size bands, from commercial 6–7mm to bold 8mm+.
Colour
Lots are visually assessed for the green appearance expected of their grade.
Aroma
Sweet, resinous and camphoraceous character is checked before packing.
Condition
Moisture, cleanliness and pack integrity are reviewed for storage stability.
